Sutteer Is Hew Utah Auxiliary Leader In reporting the recent activities acti-vities of the Utah American Legion Department convention last week, in which local Legion and Auxiliary members were honored, a very serious error was committed by the editor of the Roosevelt Standard and the Uintah Basin Record, and we humbly apologize to those affected. af-fected. We want to assure thcrse involved, both the individual and the Legion units, that it was done without thought of offending, of-fending, and was a complete oversight by us. Our story last week failed to recognize that Mrs. William (Bill) Sutteer was elected 2nd vice-president of the Utah American Amer-ican Legion Auxiliary. She will, assist the newly elected president, presi-dent, Mrs. P. K. Hayes, Richmond; Rich-mond; Mrs. A. E. Buckley, Mid-vale, Mid-vale, 1st vice-president, and Mrs. Martha Stewart, Provo, 3rd vice president, in carrying on the activities of the Auxiliary during dur-ing the ensuing year. I Mrs. Sutteer's service in the Auxiliary extends over several years, both in her own unit in Roosevelt, and in District No. 9. She is a past president of District Dis-trict 9 and of Basin Unit Auxiliary Aux-iliary No. 64. She is serving her second term as secretary for District 9, and has served as chairman of several committees. At the present time Mrs. Sutteer Sut-teer is state chairman for education edu-cation of orphans of veterans, and in 1951 was chosen as the state page for the National Convention in Miami, FloTida. |
