Show Church Services Sunday At 11 A.M. Rev. Don MacDougall, of the Presbyterian Mobile Mission of Utah, of Payson, will conduct services ser-vices at the Myton Presbyterian church, Sunday, Nov. 20, at 11 a.m. A cordial welcome is extended extend-ed to all to attend. This will be a farewell service by Rev. MacDougall, Mac-Dougall, who will leave Utah soon to accept a church assignment in Oregon. ENTERTAINS GROUP Mrs. P. E. Church entertained Wednesday afternoon at a dessert luncheon. Her guest list included Mrs. C. A. Massie, Mrs. Harry Gilmore and Mrs. Mary Carter, all of Ft. Duchesne, who enjoyed an afternoon of bridge. HOSTESS TO FRIENDS Mrs. Bliss Lott and Miss Alice Todd were hostesses Friday afternoon after-noon at the Lott home, when they entertained complimentary to Mrs. Home Robinson and Mrs. Cleone Sproul, who were spending the weekend in Myton. Present were Mrs. Floyd Lamb, Mrs. Rex Lamb, Mr.s. W. H Linck, Mrs. James Dalgleish, Mrs. W. R. Harris, Mrs. S. F. Mortensen. A dessert luncheon lunch-eon was served, followed by an afternoon of bridge. Prizes were awarded to Mrs. Sproul, Mrs. Rob-iason Rob-iason and Mrs. Rex Lamb. Several Myton students who attend at-tend the Roosevelt Junior High School were among the group of students who went to Springville last Thursday for a swimming party. par-ty. Announcement has been received of the arrival of an infant son, born Nov. 13th to Mr. and Mrs. Terry Ross at Bakersfield, Cali. The young mother is the former Carolyn Dennis, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. LaVar Dennis, who are very proud grandparents. Mrs. Dennis left Tuesday to be with her daughter and to greet her first grandson. Chester Dalgleish, of Salt Lake City, visited Thursday evening with Mr. and Mrs. James Dalgleish. He was joined Friday morning by a group of friends who came to participate par-ticipate in the pheasant hunt. Weekend guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs P. E. Church were their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Norris McDonald, and son, Max, of Kanab, and Mr. and Mrs Kenneth Pugh of Provo. Mrs. Willis Dart and two children chil-dren and Mrs. Ed Kielbasa of Duchesne, were visitors at the ranch home of Mr. and Mrs. O. A. Dart, Sunday. MARE WINS SECOND AT OGDEN SHOW Forrest Hancock went to Ogden last week to attend the "Golden Spike" Stock Show, to enter his registered Quarter Horse in the competition. His mare won second place in her class at the 1955 State Fair. At this writing no word has been received from Mr. Hancock concerning the mare's accomplishments at the stock show. FIFTH BIRTHDAY Mr. and Mrs. Robert Porritt and three sons came from Salt Lake City, Thursday evening for a weekend week-end visit at thft home of his parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Levi Porritt. While here they cetebrated the 5th birthday anniversary of their son, Chris, when relatives and friends extended greetings to the boy, Sunday. Mrs. Homer Robinson came from Salt Lake City, Thursday, to spend a few days at her Myton home. She was accompanied by her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Cleone Sproul, and small daughter. They returned to Salt Lake Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Gingell enjoyed en-joyed a weekend visit from their daughter and son-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Bob Keller, of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Keller is the former JoAnn Gingell. Other guests were Dr. Ralph Self and Dr. Ed. Stultz, both of Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hart came from Salt Lake City', Saturday for a weekend vis't at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Dalgleish. They accompanied ac-companied Mr. and Mrs. Clark Bonner of Salt Lake City, who vis- ited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Mangus in Duchesne. Mrs. Bonner is a sister of Mr. Mangus, principal of the Duchesne High School. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Jenson during the pheasant hunting weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Afton Seeley and family of Salt Lake City. They also al-so visited Mrs Seeley's father, J. W. Jenson. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gingell welcomed wel-comed a large crowd of relatives and friends during the weekend, to enjoy a visit and the pheasant hunt. Among the group were Mrs. Gingell's daughter, Mrs. Fanny Jolly and son, Bennie;. her daughter daugh-ter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Stoker, and Mrs. Milton Scott Linnell, all of Salt Lake; her granddaughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Pat Scroggins and her grandson and wife and son, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Stokes and son, all of Bingham, and Mr. and Mrs. Bill' Hyler, of California. LEGION TURKEY SHOOT DREW A LARGE CROWD The "Turkey Shoot" sponsored by the American Legion, Wm. R. Sands Post No. 5, drew a large crowd to the target grounds north of town, Sunday. Some sharp competition com-petition marked the affair and was greatly enjoyed by both participants par-ticipants and observers. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Zorko came from Ely, Nevada, pausing at Mt. Pleasant to get their 2 children. Peggy and Bob, who are studenls at Wasatch Academy. They also brought 2 other students, Glenna Dart Dart to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Dart, and Louise Gentry, to spend the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Gentry. The Zorko family visited with Mrs. Zorko's parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. A. Dart, and enjoyed some pheasant shooting. Weekend visitors at the North Myton Bench ranch home of Mr. and Mrs. S. F. Mortensen, Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Nielsen were Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hudson and 2 children and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Woolsey and 4 children of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Wm. R. Harris returned home Wednesday from Midway, where she visited Mrs. Iva Adams, a former teacher in the Myton and Duchesne schools. Mrs. Harris had been to Layton where she attended at-tended the wedding of her niece, Hope Montgomery, and stopped in Midway on her return trip. Jack Jensen, of Heber, spent the weekend here to join the many pheasant hunters. He was a guest at the home of Mrs. Emery Nielsen Niel-sen Bert Carter and Fred Carter, of Provo, visited at the Jack Gingell home, Friday and Saturday, and enjoyed the pheasant hunt Mrs. Rex Lamb, Miss Alice Todd, Mrs. Bliss Lott, Mrs. W. H. Link, Mrs. Wm. R. Harris, Mrs. Homer Robinson and Mrs. Cleone Sproul were guests at the home of Mrs. Floyd Lamb in Roosevelt, Saturday Satur-day afternoon. A dessert luncheon was served, followed by an afternoon after-noon of bridge, with high score prize awarded to Mrs. Linck. Mrs. Levi Porritt returned Wednesday Wed-nesday from a visit in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs Wm. Gallyer and small daughter, of Salt Lake City, were visitors Saturday and Sunday Sun-day at the home of Mrs. Alice Brummett, Mr. Gallyer's sister. Mrs. Allan Babcock and son went to Salt Lake Monday where they will enjoy several days of visiting and shopping. |
