Show i 1 Sports In The Open Sm Utahs annual pheasant and quail season came to a close Sunday, November 13, in most counties of the state following three days of hunting. A longer five day season ended Tuesday in six counties with a seven day hunt ending Thursday in Emery and Millard counties. The department of fish and game said today that field reports to date indicate the hunter success was generally fair in most sections. Bag returns in general, seemed to follow the wet-cold-windy weather conditions over much of the state, with many hunters reporting the birds being hard to get up and the adverse weather still harder to take. Final figures are expected to show both fewer hunters afield during this hunt and a total of less roosters hai vested. The average bae per hunter for the season will approximate other years. An extension of the quail season is set for Washington County only to begin December 4 and continue thru December 9. F&S The Utah Department of Fish and Game has set the Daggett-Clay Daggett-Clay Basin five-day-notice special deer hunt to begin Saturday, November Nov-ember 19 and continue thru November Nov-ember 28.
