Show Town By-Laws The city councilmen of Alta-mont Alta-mont went to' Roosevelt Monday night, where they met with Attorney At-torney George Stewart to get by-laws legalized. Those attending attend-ing the meeting were Pres. La-Farge La-Farge Dastrup, Clerk Gene Baxter, Bax-ter, Jewell Kolb, Lynn Farns-worth Farns-worth and Leland Stevenson. The Stake Mia Maids and Explorer Ex-plorer party was held at the rodeo grounds on Tuesday night under the direction of Mrs. Ad-aline Ad-aline Anderson and Mrs. Louis Reese. Refreshments and games were the order of the outing. A re-told story by Mrs. Reese was enjoyed by the group. Mr. and Mrs. Max Hartman and family spent Sunday evening eve-ning with Mr. and Mrs. James B. Lemon, of Ioka. Mrs. Sarah Nielson and son, of Salt Lake, who were visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Demoines Anderson, returned home Sunday. Mrs. Ned Mitchell, who was returned to the hospital because of complications following the birth of her last baby, came home last Thursday night and is reported to be recovering. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Hart-man. Hart-man. Mr. and Mrs. Max Hart-man, Hart-man, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Hart-man, Hart-man, Mrs. Floid Hartman, and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Hartman and families attended the Powell Pow-ell reunion which was held Aug. 9. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin J. Benson, Ben-son, Jr., of Salt Lake City, and Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Peterson, of West Jordan, visited Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Lambert last Monday. Mon-day. Miss Bernice Boswell spent her vacation with her parents from Sunday, Aug. 9 to the 17th. She and Marvin Swasey are planning their wedding, to be performed in the Salt Lake Temple in the near future. The ward Primary held an outdoor party at the rodeo grounds on Wednesday of this week. Refreshments and games were enjoyed by the children and teachers. VARIETY CLUB MEETS The Mt. Emmons Variety club met at the home of Mrs. Grant Hansen on Monday, Aug. 17. The evening was spent in playing play-ing competitive parlor games. Those present were, Mrs. Her- shel Iorg, Mrs. Max Hartman, Mrs. Evan Hansen, Mrs. Ken LaRose and Mrs. Jewell Kolb. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Nilsen and two children, of Crescent City. Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Reed, of Tuscon, were over-night guests of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Lambert, Monday and Tuesday of last week. |
