Show Boyd Goodrich To Fill Mission, Honored At Party A farewell party was held on Friday evening at the ward chapel for Boyd Goodrich, who is leaving on an LDS mission to the North-Central States. Boyd entered the Mission Home Aug. 19. The following program was given: "America," by congregation; congrega-tion; invocation, President Bernard Bern-ard Winkler; reading, Vivian Powell; trio, Laura Seeley, Garda Gar-da Seeley and Betty Lou Goodrich; Good-rich; reading, Alta Bird; duet, Rozella Goodrich and Martha Thorsen; remarks, Pres. Leon Burton; song, "JoAnn Goodrich and Morris Goodrich, accompanied accompan-ied by Boyd Goodrich on the ukelele; reading, Bishop Arthur Timothy; solo, Cecil Wall; remarks, re-marks, Boyd Goodrich; duet, Beth and Maxine Winkler. The remainder of the evening was spent in dancing. Boyd has served in the Navy in World War II. He is a graduate grad-uate from the B.Y.U. EARLY BREAKFAST Early Wednesday morning the following Beehive girls: Julia Bristol, Daphine Lisonbee, Janet Ja-net Seeley, Shana Lee Winkler, Barbara Bird, Carma Atwood and Scout Calvin Powell and teachers, Beth Winkler, Mrs. Lucille Lu-cille Winkler, Mrs. Vivian Powell Pow-ell and Mrs. Bernice Atwood, enjoyed a sunrise breakfast at the Altamont Rodeo Grounds. They also participated in group singing and a softball game. Mrs. Anna Winkler, of De! troit. Mich., visited here during the past week with relatives. BRIDE HONORED Mrs. Richard Harwood was honored at a bridal shower on Saturday afternoon at the home of her mother, Mrs. Alice Mathews Math-ews Mrs. Harwood is the former for-mer Nona Mathews, and is now making her home in Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Goodrich Good-rich and two' children, of Helper, Hel-per, visited on Sunday here with relatives. . A large crowd attended quarterly quar-terly conference at Mt. Emmons on Saturday evening and Sunday. Sun-day. Elder Marion G. Romney, of the Council of Twelve, of Salt Lake City, was the visiting speaker. |
