Show Exhibits Wanted .... Interest Grows, Plans Near Completion For County Fair Details for the approaching Duchesne County Fair that will be held Sept. 3, 4 and 5 at Duchesne, Du-chesne, are rapidly nearing a state of completion, with a program pro-gram promised that will top all other county fairs of the past. At a meeting Monday night, held in the courthouse at Duchesne, Du-chesne, reports were heard from the various committee heads, and each indicated most of the details had been worked out for the exhibits, entertainment and general features of the fair. The ever popular Miss Duchesne Du-chesne County contest, which is attracting entries from most of the communities in the county, will be the initial feature of the 3- day program, and will be held at the Duchesne LDS stake house on Thursday evening, Sept. 3. Following the judging of the entries which will be based on talent, personality and beauty. The morning of Sept. 3 will be devoted to judging of women's and girls' departments and 4-H Club work at the exhibit ex-hibit buildings at the fair grounds. Livestock judging on Friday morning will begin at 10 o'clock and will continue throughout most of the day, with - some demonstrations and a girl's 4-H Club style revue on tap for 2 p.m. at the LDS stake house. 4- H demonstrations will be held at 3 p.m. At 11 a.m. a reception and tea will be held for the new Miss Duchesne County and her attendants. This is being sponsored spon-sored by the American Legion Auxiliary and will be at the stake house. The evening attraction on Sept. 4, Friday, will be the horseshow, which is a new feature fea-ture of the fair this year. Besides Be-sides seeing some of the finest horses in the Uintah Basin( this show is open to the entire Basin and not confined to Duchesne County), a feature of the horse show will be the appearance of the Palomino Posse of Salt Lake City, who will put on a 30-minute 30-minute act. Time of the show is 8 p.m. and will be held at the fair grounds in Duchesne. Another full day is assured for Saturday with all exhibits being open in the morning, and an outstanding parade promised by the committee at 1:30 p.m. After the parade, which will take place on Duchesne's Main. Street at 1:30 p.m., pony races and kids' sports will occupy the remainder of the afternoon from 3 to 5. The 1953 fair will be concluded at 8 p.m. Saturday, with a rodeo, sponsored by the Roosevelt Riding Club. According to Dean C. Chris-tensen Chris-tensen and Wesley R. Dicker-son, Dicker-son, co-chairmen of the fair, all activities during the day are free, with admission being charged only for the night features fea-tures Miss Duchesne County contest, Horseshow and Rodeo. The 1953 Fair Premium Books have been printed and will be ready for distribution early next week. The book was printed in the plant of the Roosevelt Roos-evelt Standard and Uintah Basin Ba-sin Record. A special plea goes out to farmers, stockmen, gardners, housewives and club workers to make arrangements to display their products during the fair. Special committee chairmen have been appointed for each department and division.
