Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Johnson, John-son, of Salt Lake City, are visit ing with Mrs. Johnson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Todd, of Ballard. Mr. Johnson is in the U. S. Navy Corps and is located in Salt Lake City with the recruit re-cruit division. 20 Years Ago Duchesne County's school superintendent, C. M. Iverson, was elected president of the UBIC for next year, to succeed Luke Clegg, postmaster of the Roosevelt office, who has held down the office in a fitting style for the past two years. L. W. Page, superintendent of the Uintah - Ouray Indian reservation, reserva-tion, was re-lected vice-president, and Robert Bennett, of Ft. Duchesne, was elected secretary-treasurer. secretary-treasurer. In a morning session jammed full of action, members of the state emergency administration of public works, headed by Chairman W. R. Wallace, heard a report Saturday at the capi-tol capi-tol in Salt Lake City from a delegation of Uintah Basin citizens, citi-zens, that water users under the proposed Moon Lake project were all ready to go. This year's oratorical contest was won by lone Johnson, of the Uintah High School, from Florence Pierce, representing the Roosevelt High School. Miss Johnson received the vote of two of the three judges who awarded the prize. Mrs. Mary E. Harmston and son, Ted, and some of the grandchildren grand-children left Wednesday for Uintah Canyon, where they will spend about ten days camping at the Big Park. |
