Show Clerk Fees Drop, Sheriff's Up In Duchesne Co. Fees collected by the Duchesne Du-chesne County clerk and recorder re-corder show a decrease for the first six months of 1953, but collections in the sheriff's department de-partment have nearly trippled. Clerk's fees amounted to $3107.10 through June 30, compared com-pared with $3,180.08 last year, and $2,821.65 for the same period per-iod in 1951. These collections are for business licenses, certified certi-fied copies of records, marriage licenses, court filing fees, and miscellaneous charges. Recorder's fees for this period per-iod in 1953 were $3,303.90. $4,-393.13 $4,-393.13 for 1952, $3,666.85 for 1951, and $2,891.30 for 1950. Total fees collected by the recorder re-corder in 1952 amounted to $8,123.01; $7,750.78 for 1951, and $7,043.15 for 1950. Fees in this department are charges for making certified copies of public pub-lic records on file in the recorder's re-corder's office, for abstracting and recording public papers such as chattel mortgages, mining min-ing records, warranty deeds, quit claim deeds, oil, gas and mineral leases, patents, and various var-ious miscellaneous documents. The sheriff's fees have increased in-creased from $162.20 for the first half of 1952 and $84.00 for 1951. to $426.50 for 1953. This amount collected as of June 30, this year, is almost as much as the total collection of $443.20 for 1952. Total collections for the sheriff's department in 1951 were $217.20. These fees are paid to the county for service of summons, chiefly, and subpoenas. |
