Show f.'i 0 ill U E L L ' By Beiiie Mower Montwel Ward Honors Its First Missionary Saturday night at the Mo'nt-wel Mo'nt-wel church house a large crowd gathered for the farewell party of A. D. Shaw, who is leaving this week on a mission. Plates were sold for $1.00 per plate. Approximately 150 plates were sold. The following program was presented: Ruth Hamblin, accordion solo; song, by Parley Alexander, Melvin Mower, Morrill Mor-rill Taylor, Ed Hullinger and Norman Fenn; jokes by James B. Hamblin; vocal duet, Mr. and Mrs. Dwain Buchanan; song, by Matt Foley; talks, by A. D. Shaw, Bishop 'James Hamblin, Alva Snow, Paul Whiting and James Bacon; and a song, by Rosalee Brown. Cakes and pies were auctioned auction-ed off, with the highest selling for $21.00. Pies went for $7.00. Dancing followed the program pro-gram The ward made quite a bit towards helping the Fourth Elders' Quorum finance A. D. on his mission. This is the first missionary from Montwel ward and we want everyone to support sup-port him. Good luck, A. D. May God bless you and your family. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Adams and Naomi and Stanley were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Brown. Mrs. Marie Fenn, of Altamont, Alta-mont, was a weekend visitor of Mr. and Mrs. James Powell. Attending Sunday School Union Un-ion meeting in Roosevelt, Sunday Sun-day afternoon were: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Crapo, Mrs. El-doris El-doris Fenn and James Powell. Enid Brown, Bettie Mower and Ruth Hamblin were among the students from Union traveling travel-ing to Salt Lake City on Wednesday, Wed-nesday, Feb. 10, to see the University Un-iversity of Utah's Shakespeare's play, "The Tempest." A lady cook wanted between the ages of 20 and 60. Living quarters furnished. For further information contact Ed Blanch-ard Blanch-ard in Montwel. A play was put on in Sacrament Sacra-ment meeting, Sunday evening by the Genealogy committee. It was called "It Could Happen to You." Bishop James Hamblin gave a talk. Misses Cleora Campbell and Sandra Morrill, of Pleasant Grove, spent Saturday and Sunday Sun-day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Parry. Arvin Hullinger and Delmer Hamblin, students at the Utah State Agricultural College, spent the weekend visiting at home, returning Sunday to Logan Log-an to continue their studies. They went back with James B. Hamblin, who is headed for Preston, Idaho to stay for a while. |
