Emmons, 7:45 Albuquerque vs Myton-Vernal Winner, 9:00 SATURDAY Winners, 1st Night vs. Winners, 2nd Night, 7:30 (Explorers) Two Second Night Winners, 8:45 (M Men) ' Floor Show Each Night Be: tween Games, Basin Dancers Three Games Tonight Will Open rieet, Explorers At 6:30; Two IVI Men Contests Follow Ten well-groomed basketball teams, representing five stakes and the Western States Mission, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, are all primed to open the second annual Sub-division No. 14 M Men -Explorer basketball tournament at Union High School. The winning M Men team will enter the All-Church finals next month at the BYU fieldhouse. ' It had been previously announced an-nounced that only five M Men teams would come to the meet, but later developments revealed that Albuquerque, New Mexico, First Branch, had a team that had eliminated all competition in the Western States Mission, and had a right to play for the tourney spot. Other teams entered en-tered in the 3-day affair come from Denver, Barnum ward; Duchesne-Utahn wards, representing repre-senting the Duchesne stake; Mt. Emmons ward, from Moon Lake stake; Vernal Third ward, of Uintah stake, and Myton from the Roosevelt stake. Two Stakes Entered Only Uintah and Roosevelt stakes have entries in the Explorer Ex-plorer Division, with the winner win-ner and runner-up in each stake meeting for the championship cham-pionship of the Uintah Basin. Roosevelt sends the Roosevelt and Ballard wards as the No. 1 and No. 2 teams, respectively, with Maeser and Jensen wards representing the Uintah stake. This ends the fun for these teams no church play-off has been arranged for Explorers. The opening game of the tournament tourn-ament finds Maeser and Ballard explorer teams squaring off at 6:30, with the second game at 7:45, between Duchesne-Utahn and Mt. Emmons wards. Myton I will meet Vernal Third in the final game at 9 p.m. On Friday, Roosevelt ward will meet Jensen Jen-sen in the Explorer game, with Barnum ward meeting the winner win-ner of the Duchesne-Mt. Em- ' mons game, at 7:46, and Albuquerque Albu-querque taking on the Myton-Vernal Myton-Vernal winner in the third game. Only ' two games will be played Saturday. With the two winning Explorer teams of the first and second nights meeting for the title, and the second night M Men winners meeting at 8:45 for the coveted trip to, the All-Church classic. ' Dancers To Entertain Dancers from the various Uintah Uin-tah Basin stakes will entertain the crowds between games each night. Supervisiong the dancing danc-ing exhibitions will be Mr. and Mrs. Dwain Buchanan, regional dance supervisors, and stake dance directors from the four stakes.
