Show SEASONAL CHATTER By Sugar 'N Spice CONGRATULATIONS to the Sweetheart Ball committee the clever Vaientine decorations, decora-tions, floor show and queen crowning all added up to the success of ,the well-planned event. All five sweethearts were charming, and we can see that it would be difficult to make a choice for the Uintah Basin Sweetheart, but we do compliment compli-ment the Vernal queen, Monte Rae Caldwell, who was selected to reign over the dance and received re-ceived a lovely gift, presented by LaAnn Morrill, Student Council president. TO CUT MARSHMALLOWS so they will not stick to the scissors, keep blades wet with hot water while cutting. LOOKING WELL GROOMED as always was Mrs. ELON TAYLOR TAY-LOR in her cream colored short-ie short-ie coat in a soft suede finish. It was especially attractive with her gold knit dress. RUMORS ABOUT TOWN indicate or suggest, or perhaps we should say that we heard by the grapevine that JEAN McCLELLAN is about to' take matrimonial steps. Is that right, Jean? Must be her heart-throb, JIM SIMMONS, who will be the lucky man. PRETTY AS A PICTURE in her new white formal was MARIA MA-RIA PULOS, Union's candidate for the Basin Sweetheart. It was fashioned with an ultra full white net skirt over taffeta taffe-ta and a tight-fitting bodice of I white lace. Also lovely in white was JANICE NIELSON, whose ballerina length formal was designed de-signed with a tiered skirt. NOTICED THAT WE HAVE a. new addition to the city an Animal Hospital, to be operated op-erated by WES PETERSON. Location Lo-cation of the business is on Main Street between Crumbo Motor and the Standard Cabins. Cab-ins. Wes and his family have moved into the home behind his place of business. We wish him luck and success in his veterinary practice. UNDERSTAND A GROUP of progressive citizens met with the city council recently re-1 suU a city clean-up campaign. I Do' hope all Roosevelt residents will cooperate and help make , our town one of the cleanest in , the state. I MEND A RIPPED OUT hem j in a hurry with Scotch tape. . Much neater than pinning. Tape will hold on most fabrics for at I least a day. - J WHITE SUMMER SHORTIE gloves are seldom fresh enough to be used the second year. Here's a good way to make them fashion right for fall and winter wardrobes. With all-' all-' purpose dye, dye them pastel colors gold, pale blue, light I green. With darker embroidery I thread, cross stitch or feather stitch a design from the tip of the little finger to the wrist. |
