Show Hudson Wins Stock Car Speed Race; Second One In '52 Marshall Teague made it twc in a row Sunday, March 16, by piloting his Hudson Hornet to victory in a 100-mile stock car race at Jacksonville, Florida. Tha Daytona Beach service station sta-tion operator started the '52 season by winning the gruelling 150-mile road and beach race at Daytona Beach on February 10 for the second successive year. Herb Thomas, of Olivia, N. C, again followed Teague across the finish line to' give Hudson another 1-2 victory. Thomas, national stock car champion of 1951, placed second sec-ond in the Daytona Beach race. Neither Teague nor Thomas made pit stops during the 100-mile 100-mile grind at JacksonviLe Speedway, rated as the fastest half-mile dirt track in the south. Teague finished nearly two laps ahead of the second place car. His time was 1 hour 48 minutes. |
