Show Wiiliam Hancock Dies in Salt Lake, Funeral Monday William Clarence Hancock, 64; died Friday, March 28, at 8:15 p. m. at .his residence in Salt Lake City, of a heart attack. at-tack. Mr. Hancock, a long time resident of this district had made his home on his ranch in Pleasant Valley until about 2 years, ago when he retired to take up residence in Salt Lake City. He returned frequently to visit his sons, Forrest and De-Vere De-Vere on their ranches adjoining his property. He was well known as a farmer and stockman. stock-man. He was born Nov. 18, 1887 at Circleville, Piute County, a son of Levison and Emily Man-gum Man-gum Hancock. His parents moved mov-ed to Bluebell where he spent his early youth. He married Clara Ellen Mathews in Vernal in 1907. Their marriage later was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Bay Saints. He was an active member of the LDS Church and served as a director of the Moon Lake Irrigation Ir-rigation Company and as president presi-dent of the Uintah Basin Irrigation Irri-gation Company . for several years. Surviving are his widow: two sons, Forrest Hancock and De-Vere De-Vere Hancock, Myton; six daughters, Mrs. Allen Lloyd and Mrs. Dean Peterson, Taft, California; Cal-ifornia; Mrs. Merrill Colton, Duchesne; Mrs. Truman Mii-chell, Mii-chell, Roosevelt; Mrs. Mar D. Mitchell, Upalco; and Mrs. Clyde Howells, Orem; 22 grandchildren; grand-children; 2 great-grandchildren; his father, Orem; two brothers, Martin Hancock, Bluebell, and Alva Hancock, Salt Lake City; five sisters, Mrs. Sadie Dennis, Winnemucca, Nevada; Sylvia, Mina and Zella Goodrich, Bluebell; Blue-bell; Velva Gagon, Murray. Funeral services were conducted con-ducted Monday at 1 p. m. in the Roosevelt Stake Tabernacle, with Bishop Glen Gilbert, of the Myton Ward, in charge. Burial Bur-ial was in- the Roosevelt Cemetery. Ceme-tery. ATTEND FUNERAL Among the members of the W. C. Hancock family from out-of-state and from other Utah points who' visited friends and relatives in Myton during the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Dean Peterson and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Lloyd and family, of Taft, California; Mr and Mrs. .Clyde Howells and family, of Orem. |
