Show lied Cross Hears m Mark; Short 0 Quota As the 1952 Red Cross campaign cam-paign nears its completion in Duchesne County, the quota of $1246 lacks $257.37 of being reached, announces Mrs. Howard How-ard Harrison, county Red Cross chairman. It is almost certain that the $1000 mark will be reached, and it is hoped that the quota will be met. If anyone any-one hasn't been contacted and wishes to contribute, he may contact Mrs. Harrison. The deadline dead-line of March 31 has been extended ex-tended due to weather conditions condi-tions and bad roads. The total collections thus far amount to $988.63, and are broken down as follows: Roosevelt Roose-velt Business, Civic and residential resi-dential area, $524.62; I oka, $20.15; Myton, $51.45; Hancock Cove, $14.00; N e o 1 a, $9.82; Montwel, $11.57; and Ute Tribe, -$200.00; making a total of 831.61, from this area. Mrs. Parley Rawlings, campaign cam-paign chairman, and the Social- ette Club, under the direction of Mrs. Donald Larls, were responsible re-sponsible for the above collection, collec-tion, with the following chairmen chair-men taking charge of the outlying out-lying communities: Ioka, Zel-ma Zel-ma Lloyd and Myrtle Fausett; Myton, Merle Edwards and Fern , Harmon; Hancock Cove. Barbara Bar-bara Killian; Neola, Moll" Spencer; Spen-cer; Montwel, Melvina Alexander. Alexan-der. Duchesne City's total amounted amount-ed to $121.00, with Mrs. A. B. Madsen as chairman, assisted by Mrs. Dean Christensen, Mrs. Emil Munz, Mrs. Elmer Moon, Mrs. Tatton Bench, Mrs. Homer Fitzwater and Miss Laura demons. dem-ons. Tabiona's contribution was $36.02, which represents 36 families fam-ilies in the Tabiona-Hannah area. Thelma Nye had charge of the drive, assisted by Jennie Van Dremmelin in Tabiona and 'Dorthy Moon in Hannah. Also aiding were the Pep Club and 4-H Clubs, and Mrs. Theo' Gines and Mrs. Elaine G. Webb, who volunteered their services. The Altonah district has not yet had time to report, but is conducting an enthusiastic campaign cam-paign under the direction of Gladys Bell, of Arcadia. Members Mem-bers of the Altamont Pep Club are assisting and have the following fol-lowing girls appointed to be responsible re-sponsible for their respective towns: Joan Goodrich, Bluebell; Jean Rees, Upalco; Revella Wall, Altamont; Lois Sadler, Mt. Emmons; Vada Burton, Tal-mage; Tal-mage; Marjorie Pearson, Boneta; Maurine Miles, Mtn. Home; and Alta Ames, Altonah. In behalf of the local Red Cross chapter, Mrs. Harrison wishes to take this opportunity of expressing appreciation to all the workers' and contributors for their splendid support, and is especially grateful to the Ute Indian Tribe for its interest and generous contribution. |
