Show Holy Week Program . . . CatholicsAnnounceMissionAt SlHelen's During Next Week The Rev. Ignatius Strancar, pastor of St. Helens Catholic Church in Roosevelt, announced Wednesday that beginning with Palm Sunday, April 6, and concluding con-cluding with Easter Sunday, April 13, a special mission is being conducted. According to Father Strancar, the visiting missionary will be Father Arthur Spear of the missionary priests 01 tne society so-ciety of St. Paul the Apostle, pastor of the Paulist Father's Church of St. Rose of Lima at Layton. He has been conducting missions for the past 14 years For 12 years he was stationed in the State of Tennessee, where he conducted missions for members mem-bers of his church in the Southern South-ern States. He was especially active in the trailer missions the Paulist Fathers conducted in Tennessee. Father Spear is a native of St. Paul, Minn., and completed his seminary course at St. Paul's college in Washington, D. C. He was ordained a priest in 1938. A special feature of the mission mis-sion will be the question box period during which questions asked by the audience will be answered by the missionary. Services are each morning at 7 and each evening at 7:30 throughout the week. All members mem-bers of the Catholic church are encouraged to attend, and an invitation is extended to non-Catholics non-Catholics to participate in the meetings. The mission will be completed with the Easter Masses. Father Strancar recently compiled and mailed to each of his parish members a special message explaining the mission and the Easter program. ,Ht calls his congregation to repentance repen-tance and urges them to participate par-ticipate in the functions of the Catholic Church. Especially did he emphasize the masses on Palm and Easter Sundays, |
