Christensen Chris-tensen and son, Douglas, wem to Salt Lake City today to attend at-tend the general LDS conference confer-ence and to complete arrangements arrange-ments to sell their Salt Lake home. Mr. Christensen has also been summoned to Grand Jury duty in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Helphrey, from Owahii, Nevada, arrived Tuesday to spend a week here on official business for the Indian In-dian Service. They were formerly form-erly stationed, at Ft. Duchesne. Mrs. Frank Chamberlin, of Whiterocks, who was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, Salt Lake, a few weeks ago, has under-J gone a serious operation, but is reported improving and getting along as well as can be expected expect-ed Mrs. Anthon Christensen returned re-turned home last weekend after being in Salt Lake City for medical treatment. Wasatch Academy students home for spring vacation were: Jimmy Shuckers and Howard Funk, of Myton; Jimmy Sut-teer Sut-teer and Wayne Faulkner, Fort Duchesne; Dick Ruppel and Glenn Bair, Roosevelt. Glenn was accompanied by his roommate, room-mate, Don Polly. John Ruppel spent his vacation in Salt Lake with friends and relatives. Mr. Bair took the Roosevelt and Myton boys to Mt. Pleasant Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Ned Bellon returned re-turned home Tuesday night, after af-ter spending several days visiting vis-iting friends in Denver. Mr. and Mrs. George Stewart and daughters, Nancy and Mrs. John Chasel, left Wednesday for an Eastern trip. They will meet Mr. Chasel in Virginia for a brief visit before he ii sent to New Foundland. He is in military service and has been - 1 -1 previously on duty in the Pan-' I ama Canal zone. They also hope to visit with a son-in-law. Garth Gardner, who' is serving an LDS mission in the Central-At-! lantic states. Before returning home, they will visit in Washington, D. C. Jay Turner, who is stationed with the U. S. Navy in San Diego, and his buddy, arrived in Roosevelt Saturday. Scheduled Sched-uled to report back for duty Monday, they left Sunday for California, accompanied by Mrs. Turner, who will remain there for several months. Visiting-' last weekend at the Russel Robison home in Ioka were Mrs. Bobison's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Smith, and family, of Helper. .They also visited relatives rela-tives in Bluebell and Roosevelt. Mrs. Garnett Birchell and new baby daughter, Patricia, arrived ar-rived home from the Roosevelt Hospital last week. This makes two girls and four boys for the Birchells. The new arrival made her entrance into the world March 19, and tipped the scales at 8 lbs and 5 oz. Mrs. Les Swain was rushed to the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City last Saturday night for medical treatment. She was accompanied by her. husband, the Paul Nelsons and Mrs. Ther-on Ther-on Leavitt.. Her condition . is much improved and she expects to return home Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hall left this week for an indefinite visit in Long Beach, California. Mrs. Eugene Harrnston was called to Vernal Saturday b the serious illness of her mother. She returned to Roosevelt Tuesday Tues-day evening, reporting that her mother was improving, but still is in serious condition. I'll rrmmi |
