In connection with the Bountiful-Davis Art Center's high school art students exhibit, ex-hibit, "Debut," the Bountiful-Davis Bountiful-Davis Art League has awarded cash prizes for the outstanding work of their choice. FIRST place award of $100 went to Mike Dringenberg of Bountiful High School for his "Indian Maiden," second place award of $50 went to Vance Brand of Davis High School for "Desert Rock," and third place award of $50 to John Branson of Viewmont High School for his "Untitled" "Unti-tled" watercolor. Honorable mention awards of $25 each went to Dave Wray of Bountiful High School, Dawn Twede of Woods Cross High School, Jacob Knowlton of Layton High School and Scott Jackson, also of Layton High School. OTHER honorable mentions men-tions included Ranee Black of Davis High School, Todd Rushton of Bountiful High School, Evan Law of Davis High School, Pat Robison of Viewmont High School, Keith Larson of Viewmont High School and Carolyn Gill of Viewmont High School, and Bradford Groneman of Bountiful Boun-tiful High School. Congratulations are extended ex-tended to all the winners and all of the participating students who made the award process so difficult. Also to be com mended are the Davis County high school art teachers for their superb ability in training, criticizing and encouraging their students to achieve the level of excellence demonstrated demons-trated in this exhibit of high school artwork. ON THE BASIS of his work shown at the "Debut" exhibit, John Branson from Viewmont High School was offered a scholarship from Weber State College.- |
