Show y; i Centewille 1 McGmff Introduces i Safety Rude Program Centerville Police Department held assemblies in three nmtary schools this week, with Mr. McGruffintroduc-..'? McGruffintroduc-..'? the McGruff Home Program. The purposes of the (Gruff Home Program is to help our children if they ytounter any emergencies while away from their homes, program, sponsored by the Schools PTA and the Merville Police Department, was to make students u of the McGruff Homes in the area. The students advised to tour their neighborhood so they can be 'are of the McGruff Homes in their area. Officer Jeff Jacobson went over 12 safety rules with the ydenu to make them aware of what they should do. Each knt was given a copy of the rules to take home as a under to them. 1 program had excellent response from the students. , - r. McGruff was a big success. Tips to children from Mr. McGruff are: -Don't give information to strangers over the phone." -Don't talk to strangers. -Keep doors and windows locked at all times. -Don't open your doors to strangers. -Never hitchhike. -Never take money, candy or gifts or take a ride with a stranger. -Always tell your parents where you will be playing. -Play with a friend, don't play alone. -Never walk alone, always walk with a friend and go directly home from school. -Don't play in empty buildings or alleys. -If you're lost or need help contact the police, your school teacher or go to a McGruff House. -Be alert! If something is wrong, write down what you see and call the police. |
