Show Davis Increases Golf Course Fees FRUIT HEIGHTS Golfers using the Davis County Golf Course will have to dig a little deeper for their green fees this summer, according to Golf Professional Pierre Hualde. THE COUNTY-OWNED golf course west of U.S. Highway 89 and north of Lagoon has increased its golf fees to $3.50, up 50 cents over last year, to "keep the course in line with other golf links in the area." The 50-cents increase is for each nine-hole round. There is no change in rental of golf carts, it was explained. Mr. Hualde said more than 88,000 rounds of golf were played last year, generating revenues of $254,000 in green fees. Other income, such as rentals, added another $15,000. ' 'We have been financially sound with our operating budget making money every year," he said. "The course generates enough revenue to pay all of our operating and maintenance costs as well as much of our capital improvements." improve-ments." IN RECENT YEARS there have been major improvements to the clubhouse and complete repaving and expansion of the parking lot as well as course improvements. This year, improvements will include relocation of the green on the 17th hole, new men's and women's tee areas on the 6th hole and ladies' tee on the 13th hole. Also, the irrigation ditch running through the 4th and 12th fairways j has been covered. i |
