No tickets required. Admission is f V'ANE, age 15 and Daren, Daren Carling, left, and Duane Carling will present an organ recital Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the North Canyon LDS Stake Center in Bountiful. age 13, will he heard on the new Reuter pipe organ performing per-forming works by Walther, Langlais, Mathias, Widor and Bach. One other work to he featured, "Prelude on Nettle-ton," Nettle-ton," w as composed by Daren last summer and entered in the Composers Guild Competition, Competi-tion, State Fair Composition Contest and UMTA Composition Composi-tion Contest in w hich e placed first. Duane and Daren began their music studies very early with their mother who studied with former Tabernacle organist, organ-ist, Frank Asper. The Carling brothers have been studying piano and organ for the last five years with Franklin Eddings. Each has won a first place in the UMTA State Organ Contest bv the age of 12, and both have played on nearly every major pipe organ in Utah. DUANE IS a sophomore student stu-dent at Viewmont and is on the high honor roll. Daren is also a high honor student in the 8th grade at Centerville Junior. They are the sons of Darold and Shirley Carling of Centerville. |
