Not only was Jon a big winner in Idaho but thus far he is undefeated in Utah while racing in the 60 yard dash. "In Utah we have had two indoor meets at Alta and one at BYU" noted coach DuBois, "Jon has won the 60 yard dash in all three meets. His best time is 6.47 which is a school record. To give you some idea how fast that is for a high school kid just consider that 6.51 placed third in the WAC indoor meet." Another Viking to perform well thus far has been senior Dave Chowen in the 60 yard hurdles. hur-dles. Dave also placed third in the Simplot Games in Idaho, once again behind two Colorado Col-orado runners. Coach DuBois indicates that Dave is one of the top three hurdlers in the state this year, he placed second at one Alta meet and third in another yet he defeated both people ahead of him in those meets up in the Idaho contest. "It seems those three guys are close and it just depends on who has the better day" DuBois pointed out. SENIOR DAVE Titsensor has also been bringing home some hardware for the Vikes in the shot put competition. Dave has put the shot 50 feet this year already which has placed him second in all the big indoor meets behind J.C. VonCollin of Clearfield, the defending state champion in the event. Several other Vikings have competed in the various indoor meets but this trio of athletes are the ones that Coach DuBois singled out.
