Show IAE, Kimball receive grants Two Park City arts organizations organ-izations received grants last week from the Utah Arts Council. The Kimball Art Center received $15,700 as an '84-85 annual grant award. And the Intermoun-tain Intermoun-tain Actors Ensemble received receiv-ed $1,000 as a community arts development grant. Kimball Director Diane Balaban said the center had applied for funds to pay normal operating expenses. Ensemble director Ron Burnett said his grant will be used for IAE's summer Shakespeare Festival, which will be held this year on the ice rink at the Park City Kesort Center. The money will help house actors during the festival in nearby condos. The Arts Council also calls for the recipient to come up with 100 percent in matching money. Burnett said the Ensemble had that amount from the returns on last fall's "Fan-tasticks" "Fan-tasticks" production. The festival will begin on July 5, said Burnett. It will play Thursday-Saturday evenings through August 25, with matinees on Saturday. The plays this season are "Richard OI," "Twelfth Night," and "Midsummer Night's Dream." This year's festival is possible in large part due to help from the Park City Resort Center, Burnett said. Burnett has picked his cast, including actors from California, Cedar City, Idaho, Ida-ho, Brigham Young University, Univer-sity, and Wasatch High School in Heber. Readings for specific roles in the plays will be held on May 12. |
