Show 1. We have already been asked by the City Council to incur a financial burden because of the construction being done on Main Street this summer. sum-mer. At least four weeks of this allotted allot-ted time will decrease employee income in-come by about seventy-five percent. In order to be able to survive those four weeks we are going to have to work as much as possible before that time. Our rent payments, car payments, insurance in-surance payments, food expenses, school expenses, etc., etc., etc. will still be due. Now the Silver Mill project (a $15,000,000 project) wants us to suffer suf-fer additionally so they can save on their construction costs. This is not fair. Is the City Council going to permit a project of that magnitude to decrease the income of Main Street employees so they can cut costs? 2. Why is the crane removal being brought up at this late date? Silver Mill seems to wait until the last minute to bring up their problems. Are the employees em-ployees of Main Street to suffer again because Silver Mill can't seem to get their ducks in a row? What other surprises sur-prises do they have in store for us? 3. We feel Mrs. Fields should pay her own construction costs and stop relying on the employees of Main Street to pay them. 4. Perhaps Main Street construction construc-tion could start on top of Main Street so they can get to the crane removal area sooner and thereby cut costs. We implore the City Council to insure in-sure that construction projects pay their own expenses. The citizenry of this town should not have to bear a financial loss just to provide the big time developers, in this case Fields Enterprises, the opportunity to cut their expenses. The undersigned and their creditors await your decision.
