Show Meetings set for Central Utah Project A series of public meetings will be held by the Utah Department of Natural Resources Re-sources to gather public comments on the scope of a comprehensive review of the Central Utah Project, Bonneville Bonne-ville Unit. The review was requested by Governor Scott M. Mathe-son Mathe-son and is to be completed by November, 1984. In requesting request-ing the review, Governor Matheson noted his concern over growing reservations expressed by local elected officials, impacted mining companies and landholders, and certain state and federal agencies. Questions center on provisions of the repayment repay-ment contract, water rights, safety of various dam sites, the need for additional electrical power, impacts on wildlife and recreation resources, re-sources, and the relevancy of actual water needs. Public meetings will be: Monday, May 7, 1984, 7:30 p.m., State Office Building, First Floor Auditorium, Salt Lake City. Tuesday, May 8, 1984, 7:30 p.m., Orem City Center, 56 North State, Orem, Utah County. Wednesday, May 9, 1984, 7:30 p.m., Wasatch Middle School Auditorium, 175 East 800 South, Heber City, Wasatch County. Thursday, May 10, 1984, 7:30 p.m., Duchesne High School Auditorium, Duchesne, Duchesne County. Friday, May 11, 1984,7:30 p.m., Sevier County Court house, 250 North Main, Richfield, Sevier County. Comments may be submitted submit-ted in person or in writing at the public meetings, or written comments may be submitted to the Department of Natural Resources, 1636 West North Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah 84116. Public meetings will also be scheduled sched-uled Sept. 17-21 to solicit public review and comments on a draft report before the department submits a final report to Matheson. |
