How about improving your riding on the trail? Would you like to get some pointers from the "pros," but feel you don't have the opportunity? Or are you just plain interested in horses, even though you don't own one? If you answered "yes" to any of the above questions, you won't want to miss the information-packed clinics coming up on March 20 and 27. These clinics, co-sponsored by the Utah Quarter Horse Association and the BYU Equitation Department, are free to the public and will be taught by accomplished and professional people. The BYU Equitation Department has generously donated the use of their arena for this occasion. It should be noted that these are demonstration, as opposed to participation, clinics - which means you don't have to own a horse in order to attend. On Saturday, March 20, the curriculum will be as follows: from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, Angie Parker will demonstrate English Equitation and English Pleasure. From 1 to 3 p.m., you can pick up some tips on Western Pleasure from Clark Parker, and from 3 to 5 p.m. Lucky Dorrity will show you how to handle a reining horse. You have a week to catch your breath; then on March 27, from 9 a.m. to noon, Lee Stone will illuminate the subject of halter horses. Then Dr. David Parma has the floor as he lets you in on the intricacies of Western Horsemanship from 1 to 3 p.m. From 3 to 5, Parma is again teaching, this time showing the tricks of getting through the obstacle course in a trail class the correct way. Riders of all abilities, as well as people who are interested in horses but have never ridden, will not want to miss this opportunity to become better acquainted with so many different aspects of horsemanship and riding. If you need more information, call Dr. David Parma at 654-3030, and remember: everyone is invited. jm: . :& XT' a r- f ( ' f --" mummum mummrvv . N . r t L , i! V 4 -"!?
