Show J.J. Johnson Awarded $42,000 Contract to Study Water J.J. Johnson & Assoc., a Park City engineering firm, has been awarded a $42,000 contract to complete a comprehensive water resource re-source and need survey for the City. The survey will be spearheaded by Fred Dube-row Dube-row of J.J. Johnson and will be completed sometime in June. Duberow said the survey . will basically identify all existing and potential water resources in the Park City area pinpointing existing and future water demands. Addi tionally the survey will recommend courses of action for the City to follow in order to efficiently develop its present and future water resources to meet present and future needs. Duberow added the study will attempt to find water sources to replace irrigation water that will eventually be pumped into the City's system from the Spiro tunnel. Water from the Spiro Tunnel currently is used for irrigation between Park City and East Canyon. If that water is pumped into the City's water system it could not be used for irrigation until it is treated at the Snyderville Basin sewage treatment Jplant north of Kimball Jet. One way of replacing the irrigation water that is currently being considered would be to build an auxiliary treatment plan in Park City so the water could be treated here and released for agricultural and irrigation use between here and East Canyon. |
