It was stated that the grade had been made so low that it came to wilnln a few Inches of-the water pipes and the other pipes, endangering them in cold weather. The mayor recommended that the city engineer establish tho curb lines on Seventeenth street without cost to the telephone nnd light company, as said company bad located i lie present pres-ent poles hy authority of tho city couucil and should not be charged a fee for the location of poles wheu they had once paid f'r same; that the changing of the poles was to accommodate accom-modate ihe dty and not the telephone tele-phone nnd light company. The request re-quest was granted. The board of equalization In side walk district JOS reported that there had been n protests and that the city should proceed with the building of the walk.
