Show WHEAT 100 H SN UTAH TO EXPORT The Ogden Milling & Elevator company com-pany i.-i making preparations for some big shipments of flour this fall. The rush season will start in about three weeks and the prospects are good for a record breaking year of business. According to H. E. Mack, manager of the company, wheat will be plentiful plenti-ful this year, and in the west especially espe-cially will be of an exceptionally good quality. Speaking of the export business, in which at one time his company was largely Interested, Mr. Mack says that he is not expectlug to do any export ing this season. "Wheat is tco high to be exported," he said. "Wo have done very little exporting in late years, although at one time we did tbe greatest expoit business of am company in the state. That was at a time when wheat was selling at 45 anil 50 cents a bushel. Right now wheat is selling here at about. SO eer.ts a bushel w ith a prospect pros-pect of It going a little higher. At this price there is no profit In the export business. Some ye.irs ago we shipped over three million pounds of wheat to Honolulu and Hong Kong, but we don't expect to ship any this year. When wheat goes above ,r,f cents a bushel. It doesn't pay to send it to tbe Orient. |
