No," and all the electors desiring to vote to hav; the said bonds Issued shall erase the word "No" on said ballot; and all the electors desiring to vote against said bonds shall erase the word "Yes" on said ballot, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND ORDERED, That if a majority ct the qualified electors shall vol. hot to Issue said bonds, then no further fur-ther proceedings shall be taken by the City Council of Ogden City under tills resolution. PREPARE FOR BOND ELECTION; I Tho matter of preparing papers for j prrangements for a Irond election for tlie purpose of submitting to Ihe people peo-ple of tbe city the question as to whether the municipality shall be bonded for the Improvement and extension ex-tension of the waterworks system having been submitted to the consld-, oration of City Attorney James De-Vine, De-Vine, the attorney, last evening, recommended re-commended to the council that they pass a resolution providing for a bond i c!ectlon, September 5, 1910. The ucommendations of the attorney were unanimously adopted by the city fathers and the proper resolution was passed. The places for holding the election and the judges selected to serve were as follows: FIRST WARD City Hall: Judges of election Jnmes Cassin. T, F. Em- j melt and Mrs. Heber Warner. I SECOND WARD Armory: Judges o( election David W. Evans, Mrs. G A. Newman and Mrs, D. Anderson. THIRD WARD Mound Fort school house: Judges of election Nels An-detfton. An-detfton. Asael Farr and Mrs. Albert Powers. FOURTH WARD County Court House: Judges of election W. S. Donaldson, Henry Steele and H. Whalen Tho resolution follows: WHKRFAS, Ogden City has grown ) so rapidly within the past few years j a? to require numerous extensions to ' the present distributive mains of its vaterworks system, and thereby increasing in-creasing tbe quantity of water consumed, con-sumed, and WHERKAS, the existing distributive distribu-tive svstem is taxed to Its carrying capacity, and additional extensions thereto without additional mains from the reservoir in connection therewith would be useless, and WHEREAS. Tho present conduit ftom Cold Water canyon to the existing exist-ing waterworks reservoir Is of only bufllcient capacity to meet, the pres- e-nt demands, and WHEREAS. With an Increase of tho distributive system an additional conduit con-duit will be necessary from Cold Water canyon to the present storage reservoirs, and WHEREAS, It will be necessary to construct a dam In said Cold Water canyon to intercept the waters there-ot there-ot and collect the same so that they may be turned Into the conduit to b constructed, and WHEREAS. All of the above named hcprovemcnls are Immediate and urg-eritl urg-eritl needed, and WHEREAS, Ogden City has not sufficient suf-ficient funds with which to immediately immedi-ately construct and complete said Improvements to its water works system, sys-tem, NOW. THEREFORE. BE IT RE-1, SOLVED AND ORDERED. That the said Ogden City borrow the sum of One Hundred Thousand ($100,000) Dollars: that said sum of Ouo Hundred Hun-dred Thousand ($100,000) Dollars shall be raised by the issue of one hundred (100) bonds of the denomination denomi-nation of One Thousand ($1,000) Dollars Dol-lars each, wherein the faith and credit of Ogden City shall be pledged to pay said sum. and that said sum c-f money so borrowed shall be used lu the construction and development of said distributive system of the I Ogden Water works system as well os the construction and development of a conduit to be built from Cold Water canyon to tho storage reser- |
