The injury to the sub-station was oused, it is thought, by lightning and on starting the dynamo one coll after another was burned out as fa.u as a fresh one could be replaced. The arc lights on Twenty-fourth and Twenty fifth streets, east from Adams avenue, were out of commission, com-mission, a pole at tho corner of Twenty-fourth street and Qulncy avenue b-lng b-lng fhort circuited by the lightning and burned off by the resulting arc which was formed.
