Show MAKING MONOGRAMS. Monograms can be easily made at homo. To make them cut the letters out about one-eighth of an Inch from the outline and lay them on a piece of white paper Place a pieco of tracing paper over tUem and move tnem about until they are ,in the position po-sition that you want them through the tracing paper. Then take a pencil and trace them on the paper. You can now stamp the centre letter let-ter on your material. When It is stamped placo the tracing you made over it and slip one of tho other letters in place. Stamp it and then place the tracing over It again, so you can see Just where th next letter should go With the aid of the tracing you can make as many monograms alike as you deslro without further trouble. Prominence Is always given to the letter to the surname. It Is placed in the centre when the centre letter Is of large size, but if the letters aro all of the same size they Bhould bo followed in regular rotation. The letters In a monogram should entwine and this must be kept In mind when you start to embroider. Decide which of the cross lines should be brought forward, and pad them, stopping the padding in the other lines on each edge When an end curves over tho edge! cf a wide strip pad and embroider the i large strip first, and then pad the little h curve nnd embroider it on top of the first ,i embroidery. i |
