Show oo Last of Americans At Archangel Are En Route Home ARCHANGEL, Friday, June 27 The last of the American forces here, with the exceptiton of Brigadier General William H. Richardson, the American commander, with headquarters troops, embarked today for Brest. The forces which left were a battalion of the 310th engineers. Before sailing, every officer of the battalion and twenty enlisted en-listed men were decorated by the Russian Rus-sian command for gallantry and efficiency. effi-ciency. General Richardson and (he headquarters head-quarters detachment will remain here several weeks. The field railway troops on the Murmansk front will leave shortly In view of the valuable valu-able services of these latter troops, the north Russian government is pleading strongly for their retention throughout the summer. The departure of the ClOth engineers marks the close of the American participation par-ticipation in the Archangel campaign. With the exception of a strong British reserve this campaign is being conducted con-ducted now only by the Russians. |
