Show Judges Not to Act in Case of Knockout, July 4 TOLEDO. Ohio, June 27. Jess Wll-lard Wll-lard and lac k K arns, manager or j Jack Dempsey, tonight expressed satis faction over the selection of Ollie Record, official referee or the Toledo I boxing commission, to be the third man in the ring a week from today They also approved the selection of Tex Rlckard, promoter of the contest, and Major A J. Drexel Biddle, president presi-dent of the army, navy and civilian board of boxing control, to serve with Pecord as Judges. Rickard annoum ed he would hold a conference with Pecord. Biddle and the two boxers probably next Monday, for a thorough discussion of the rules governing the contest. It was pointed out that in event of a knockout the judges would not have anything to do in getting a decision. But if one man should win on a foul or is disqualified for refusing to box or other infraction infrac-tion of the rules, Pecord will have to consult the judges before announcing a verdict. H also will have to consult Rickard and Biddle if both men are on their feet at the end of the twelve scheduled rounds in the event the judges are unable to agree on the win-' ner. With the contest Just a week away. the heavyweight rivals are finishing j their training. Dempsey confined his1 work-out to three rounds of boxing this afternoon and a round of shadow box ing.
