Rickenbachor, former .well known American automobile racer and now an ace in the United States aviation avia-tion service in France, has been cited for bravery by the French government. govern-ment. His mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Ricken-bacher Ricken-bacher of this city, today received the citation, in the form of a steel engraving en-graving signed by General Gourard of the French army. The citation was awarded for the sending down in flames of an enemy airplane. SEAMEN ARE COMMENDED. WASHINGTON, Aug. 2. Secretary Daniels today commended Seamen J. F. Dowty of Falls City, Neb., for rescuing res-cuing a Japanese woman who fell overboard ov-erboard from a steamer in San Francisco Fran-cisco bay July 8 and Ship's Cook J. Valdez of San Bernardino, Cal., for rescuing a sliipmato from drowning Juno 20. |
