Show 'judge A. W. Agee Weds Miss Clara L. Gordon, Prominent Educator of Houston, Texas Last Tuesday evening at 9 o'clock at the attractive home of Eber F. Piers, 2730 Harrison avenue, an Interesting veddLng occurred when Miss Clara Louise Gordon became the bride of Judge Alfred V. Agee. Rev. Christian A. Garvcr performed the wcdd'yig ceremony cere-mony which was witnesses by the relatives rel-atives of the judge only. The evening was pleasantly spent. The bride is one of the most prominent promi-nent women of her home city, Hous-ton, Hous-ton, Texas, where she is known as worker of miracles among the deaf children of the city's schools. She was; the first teacher in Houston to guide the destinies of deaf children In scholastic schol-astic vays and under her charge, by a carefully worked out system, children chil-dren who do not hear, and therefore have not known how to reproduce i sound, are taught to talk. Their cdu cation vas carried out through several grades all of which Miss Gordon, now Mrs. Agee, taught. Judge Agee is very well known throughout the state where he has. been active in public affairs for many ' years. At present the Judge presides, as all Ogdcntles know, over the second judicial court of Weber county. After next week Judge and Mrs. j Agee vill be at home to their friends at apartment No. 10 Falrview on Jef- ferson avenue and Twenty-seventh i street. f ; i I Miss Lyndall Fan Is Bride of Soldier in Khaki v ; The war god Is claiming considerable attention but ho seems powerless to prevent the numerous war romances roman-ces that occur almost daily. An interesting event which comes as a complete surprise to the bride's many Ogden friends Is tho marriage of Miss Lyndall Farr, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Farr of 501 Canyon Road to Mr. George E. Wllkenson of Russell Springs, Kansas. Mr. Wilken-sen Wilken-sen Is a member of the Forty-second Infantry stationed at Dover, N. J. Tho wedding which was a quiet affair af-fair occurred In New York the twenty-second day of July. Mrs. Wllkenson Wllken-son who Is a talented musician has been pursuing her violin ' studies in Boston for the past year. Sho will remain until ho leaves for overseas duty, and will then return to Ogden to reside with her parents on Canyon Road. CHILDREN'S AID SOCIETY Tho regulrjr meeting of the Children's Chil-dren's Aid Society was held yesterday at the home of tho prosident Mrs. Ar-chlo Ar-chlo Bowman, 2575 Jefferson avenue. The regular business was carried out and plans were made for extensive work during the fall and winter months. FROM NEW YORK CITY Mrs. Samuel Kohn of New York City is an Ogden visitor at the home of Mrs. Rose Kohn on Twenty-fifth street. ' AT FISHAVEN Joseph Scowcroft left Ogden today for Bear Lako where he will spend a short vacation with his family who have taken a cottage at Fishaven for the summer. Mrs. Scowcroft and children are enjoying the pleasures of the resort and lako with occasional motor trips. ARRIVE IN OGDEN Mrs. Mosley of Ainsworth, Nebraska Nebras-ka and Mrs. E. E. Stewart of Riverside, River-side, California, mother and sister of Mrs. John N. Spargo, arrived in Ogden last Thursday. They came to attend the funeral of Mrs. Spargo. MRS. KELLOG RETURNS Mrs. G. W. Kellog has returned from a trip to Portland, Oregon, where she has been visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Cowles. Mrs. Louise Hartwell of Salt Lako City has returned to her homo after a pleasant visit in Ogden as the house-guest house-guest of Mrs. Mary DeLacey Kennedy at her homo on Twenty-seventh street. These ladies are among the most enthusiastic knitters in the city and are doing splendid work. OGDEN WOMEN VISIT SALT LAKE LODGE Quite a number of the Ogdcn members mem-bers of tho Ladles Auxiliary to the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen attended at-tended the special meeting of tho Wasatch Wa-satch lodge In Salt Lake City last Thursday afternoon and evening when the grand president, Mrs. Clara Bradley Brad-ley of Columbus, Ohio, was present and addressed the gathering. The meeting meet-ing was a most interesting one and was followed by a banquet, covers being be-ing laid for a large' number of both tho Salt Lake and Ogden auxiliaries. Tholr wedding came as a pleasant, surprise to a host of Ogden friends and will also be of Interest to many out side of the state, as Mr. Richards Is very well known, especially espe-cially In Ohio, his homo state. Mrs. Arnold Is one of this city's attractive at-tractive young ladles and her many friends are showering her with appropriate ap-propriate pleasantries. SEWING DIVISION The sewing division of Queen Esther Es-ther chapter met at the Ogden High school last Tuesday to do Red Cross work. The ladles meet regularly for sewing which is very essential at this time. MET LAST WEDNESDAY Tho promoters of the League of Sacred Heart met at the home of Mrs. Hugh Nolan on Madison avenue last Wednesday afternoon and attended to the usual business. WOMEN OF AMERICAN PATRIOTS A special meeting of the Women of American Patriots was held last Sunday Sun-day when a few questions of importance import-ance were taken up. Tho regular meeting will be held tomorrow at 4 o'clock In the city hall and all members mem-bers of the organization together with all other relatives of soldiers or sailors are requested to be present. VISITED IN OGDEN J. H. Bassett of Pocatello, Idaho spent last week In Ogden at the Virginia Vir-ginia where his family is spending the summer. VISITING MRS. M. E. WOODY D. P. Woody, who enlisted In the navy June 6, 1917 at the age of twenty twen-ty years is visiting in Ogden with his mother, Mrs. M. E. Woody, and brothers bro-thers nnd sisters. The young man is thoroughly enjoying his furlough in Ogden where he has many friends. EPISCOPAL LADIES OUTING Last Thursday afternoon the ladles of tho Episcopal church of the Good Shepherd spent a jolly time at Lagoon enjoying the various amusements at tho resort while at six o'clock a tempting tempt-ing basket luncheon was served, the gentlemen of the church attending. The day was a most pleasant ono from start to finish. COMPLETES COURSE OF STUDY. Dr. Leonard Jenkins, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Jenkins of Twenty-seventh street, Ogden, completed a two years' course of study as a physician and his many Ogden friends will be pleased to learn of his success. Dr. Jenkins completed com-pleted his course July 31 aB a physician physic-ian and surgeon and ho Is expected home to visit his parents before enter ing tho service of Uncle Sam. Mrs. Packard was formerly Miss Leona Peerman of this city. Mr. Packard has been stationed at Camp Lewis since early in 1917. FROM GARLAND. Mrs Jane Forrest has returned to her home on Twenty-seventh street after a pleasant trip east Mrs. Forrest has been away since early this year and has visited in New York City, Washington, Wash-ington, D. C, and Kansas City. BROTHERHOOD OF AMERICAN YEOMEN. At the regular meeting of the Brotherhood Broth-erhood of American Yeomen in the I. O. O. F. hall on Washington avenue ave-nue next Wednesday evening a farewell fare-well party will be given in honor of Earl L. The ladies of Miriam chapter,. Order Or-der of the Eastern Star met at the aU tractive canyon home of Mrs. S. J. Griffin last Thursday afternoon and spent the afternoon hours in doing Red Cross work. Twenty ladies were present and a social time was enjoyed after the work., Mrs. Griffin served a refreshing little luncheon in the coolness cool-ness of her summer home. CAMPERS ENJOY BONFIRE. Folks spending the summer months in the canyon at tho various camps gathered at tho Idlewild grove last Wednesday evening and spent the eve-ning eve-ning around a large bonfire where they prepared a tempting lunch and enjoyed a watermelon feast. Nearly one hundred campers from Idlewild, Lewis, Wilcox, Wildwood and the Hermitage Her-mitage were present and a jolly time was spent This was probably the largest gathering gath-ering of the campers in the canyon this summer. TO HOLD OUTING. The Salt Lake real estate board will hold its annual outing at Lagoon Tuesday, August 6, when the Ogden members of the local real estate board will be honor guests at a banquet at 7 p. m. SPENT FEW DAYS HERE. Mrs. Harry Ward and daughter, Jane, visited friends in O'gden recently while en route to their homo in Sparks, Nev., from Idaho Falls.
