Show f Y CHARMING GIRLS IN VAUDEVILLE ACTS. V J As a finale to their campaign to raise funds for the Knights of Columbus Colum-bus War Camp fund, the local order will present a vaudeville show at tho Orpheum next Tuesday February 12. Each act in itself will undoubtedly be worth the price of admission judging judg-ing from thes plendid press notices given the preformers in their recent tour of Idaho cities where they were received by large and appreciative audiences. au-diences. They have been holding rehearsals re-hearsals for nearly a month and havo perfected their respective roles. "Butterfly Frolic" Is the title of a graceful dance which was originated and will be presented by two of this city's mpst charming young ladies, Miss Grace Jennings and Miss Edna Kohn, Incidentally one of, the young ladles was a pupil of a former student of the classic dancer, Miss Ruth St. Denis so Ogden theater goers are promised a rare treat In this number. "The Japanese Tea Dance," which received re-ceived splendid notice as a" feature of the society play "The Camouflage" given recently in Salt Lake City, will ako bo given by these two graceful dancers. Miss Leonoro Sorsby who defeated Miss Wooley last year In competition for the state declamation championship, champion-ship, will play the leading role in "Miss Civilization." Miss Sorsby is a student of the high school and the daughter of tho late United States ambassador Sorsby to Brazil. Miss Sorsby is the nolce of Mrs. Mark Smith of Ogden and since her arrival in this city has been among tho most popular young ladies of the social set. Miss Florence Riser, one of the moro talented young women of Ogden will play the lead in "First Aid to the Wounded" while Edmund Wood, Chester Ches-ter Hess, Reed Conroy and Elwood Pearson will be the soloists. This will be a miniature musical comedy and lovers of good music and rich humor combined will be given a treat Miss Ruth Winter will play tho lead with tho Saxophone trio in which Rodger Conner and Alvin McCulloch give a Chinese act. Both young men are splendid saxaphone players. Miss Winter's part will also bo appreciable. In an act by herself Miss Bernice Burke will undoubtedly score a hit. She was accorded hearty applause throughout the recent tour of the players. play-ers. Her impersonating in songs is especially pleasing. Among the most important features of the entire vaudeville performance la the piano music and Miss Vera De Lamater whose ability Is so well known In local musical circles, will take her place In tho orchestra pit, Her work with tho players has been especially worthy of commendation, Mr. Edmund Wood, son of Hugh C. Wood plays the leading male role in both "First Aid to the Wounded" and In "Miss Civilization." |
