Show FRANK L CHAPli DIES SUDDENLY WHILE I THE COAST Frank L. Chapln, a well-known resident res-ident of Ogden and for many years a real estate promoter and mining man of northern Utah and Colorado, died this morning at Lmg Beach, Cal., according ac-cording to a telegram received by Secretary Sec-retary W. T. Greenwell of tho Elks' lodge of Ogden. Mr. Chapln had been in California for about two months, having left Ogden seeking to better his health. In a letter received at the club several days ago he announced that he had gained weight and was feeling much improved. Yesterday afternoon he was stricken quite seriously, ser-iously, however, and his death followed. fol-lowed. . Mr. Chapin was about G5 years oX age. Details concerning his earlier life were unobtainable. He was interested in-terested in raining property in Colorado Colo-rado before coming to Ogden in about 18SS and, after making his residence here, ho was a real estate promoter. Mr. Chapin handled some of tho biggest big-gest land deals in tho county, having been very active especially auring tho boom days. He left Ogden for Ely, New, and stayed thero for some time but returned. Ho had made his homo at the Reed hotel for a long time. He was a prominent member of tho Elks lodge. He is known to have a cousin in Chicago. The body will be sont to Ogden from Long Beach and the funeral will be conducted by the Elks, the time and place, however, not having been decided. j |
