Show Sixteen National Organizations Urge Appointment of Advisory Ad-visory Committee to Speed Up Production. WASHINGTON, Fob. 9. President Wilson had before hina today a memorial me-morial presented by sixteen national farm organizations urcins the appointment ap-pointment of an advisory commission of nine farmers to aid the government in. framing more definito measures to speed up agricultural production. The memorial given to the president by a delegation of representatives of the organizations which called at the Whit House asked also for tho fur-loughinr fur-loughinr of trained farm workers new in the army, if the government considered con-sidered their services more useful in agricultural production; that farm laborers be kept from class one of tho draft; that provision bo made for furnishing fur-nishing fanners with seed, fertilizer and short time loans for crop production produc-tion and finally that if a policy of price control be adopted it be applied to what the farmer buys as well as what ho sells. While the president said that he could not answer such a comprehensive comprehen-sive petition off-hand, it would receive re-ceive his most careful consideration. oo |
