Barker took tho case of the city against James Dean and Lena VanKomen, charged (with vagrancy, under advisement in municipal court this morning. - y Dean and tho VanKomen woman were arrested last night by Detectives Ellsworth and Habertson as they left Electric alley. During their examination, examina-tion, David L. Stine, assistant city attorney, at-torney, obtained the information they had received their whiskey from one ''Charles Brown," at " tho Colonial rooming house on Twenty-fourth street. The prisoners wore held under $100 bonds each to Inquire into Brown's conduct According to the two defendants, "they understood that Brown could get whiskey" and they went to the rooming house rnd made application. Brown, they said, took Dean's money and "went down stairs returning in a very short time with one pint." They; pleaded not guilty to the charge of I vagrancy. ' j 00 ' |
