Show ' u. Biro r G TODAY Wyoming Football Team Arrives Ar-rives for Battle With Norgren's Squad. SALT LAKE, Oct. 20. They're off. Promptly at 3 p. m. today Utah's collegiate football season will be ushered ush-ered in with eclat when the University of Utah pigskin disciples clash with the Cowboys from Wyoming. If spirit displayed by students of the local institution in-stitution may serve as any criterion, I the Crimson squad will bo backed by a deluge of red-blooded fans which will pack the stands at Cummings field to the limit. "Utah's m.en are in pretty fair shape," declared Coach Norgren last night, "and with a little hard work we should be able to romp home with the bacon." Coach Norgren pointed out that only two of Utah's gridists are experienced j men, "Pug" Warner and Harold "Goody" Goodwin. The remainder of the men have had some little football experience, but have been undei the Norgren system only a comparatively I short time. They are fast and heavy, however, and Norg is not at all pessimistic pessi-mistic over Utah's chances for victory. Wyoming's band of cohorts, twenty strong, will- arrive in this city today at 10 n. m.. and will immediately go to the Moxum hotel to get In football duds. They will journey to Cummings field for a sbortffwhile in the morning to become accustomed to the field and to get limbered up. Coach Cromwell's crowd, according to reports from the Cowboy state, expect to "slip one over" on Utah, and all in all fans may expect a "clevah" game, as the Englishman Eng-lishman would say. Preparatory to the game, Coach Norgren sent his men through a light practice last night. The greater part ' of the time was taken up In explaining J the signals and rules. Some of the j men are not in the best of condition I because of the fact that they have J been in training only a short time, but Norgren is in hopes that he will not be obliged to send in any substitutes. He has only sixteen men eligible for the game, and if Wyoming presents a formidable attack, it is likely that the Utah coach will have to use some of the reserve men. |
