Show ANGELS LOSE Tfl VERNON 2 TO 0 Curley Brown Fails to Halt Tigers and Angels Pass Another An-other Chance for Pennant. LOS ANGELES, Oct. 19. By losing to Vernon, 2 to 0, today, the Angels passed up another chance to go on even terras with San Francisco in the pennant race. Curley Brown, the Angels' lone southpaw, was sent in today to halt the Tigers' victorious march, but Curley Cur-ley wasn't there with enough pep td prevent the Tigers scorinjr while Hov-lik Hov-lik held the Angels runless. Both pitchers were given errorless support. Bron was touched for ton hits, while Hovlik allowed eight. Snodgrass started the ball rolling in the first inning by hitting a hot one in the field for one base on the first ball pitched. Ho stole second and scored on Vaughn's single to center. Brown's teammates managed to prevent pre-vent the Tigers scoring again until the seventh. In this inning Meusel singled, sin-gled, Galloway sacrificed him to second sec-ond and Callahan sent him to third with a single to center. Moore sacri-fice-flied to Maggert, Meusel scoring.
