Show Garland Society (Special to the Sandard) Mr3. Georgo Henrle entertained at a pleasant birthday surprise in honor of her daughter, Ervina, last week.1 Games and music wero enjoyed by the! children and a luncheon was served to about seventeen guests. Mr, and Mrs. Charles Munns entertained enter-tained ono evening this week in honor of Fred Nye who came home on a furlough. fur-lough. Mr. Nye Is attending tho training school at the University of Ulah. Refreshments wore served to about twenty -five guests. Earl Bowcutt who is at the training school at the University of Utah is homo on a furlough visiting his family fam-ily and other rolatlves. Ellwood Winters left Thursday of last week for Fort Logan to serve in tho army. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Harris have returned re-turned from a trip to Salt Lake whore thoy spent a week visiting rclutivos nnd friomls Mr. and Mrs. Ursol Rose and children chil-dren have returned from a trip to Salt Lake where they spont conference week and visited friends. Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Christophcrson returned after a two weeks' sojourn in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Moore havo returned re-turned to their homo In Ogden after spending a week here, the guests of Dr. and Mrs. J. W. Chambers. Mrs. Chris Anderson has returned from a two weeks' visit wjth relatives in Salt Lake. The wedding of Miss Cleo Thomas of Tremonton and Leroy LUlywhite of Garland was performed in Ogden last week. After a short honeymoon trip tho couple will bo at home in Gerland. Henry Garrett is visiting here with his brothers and their families while on his furlough. He will return soon to Camp Kearny, California. Ezra Peter Jensen has left for Fort Logan where he will be In training. Mr. and Mrs. Dixie ShelCon have had as their guest, Miss Pearl Shel-ton Shel-ton of Kaysville. Mrs. W. R. Vanfleet returned last week from a visit with friends in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis LUlywhite entertained en-tertained at a dinner last week in honor hon-or of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Lillywhite. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Grover, and Miss Haltle Hess spent part of last weok In Salt Lake, Farmington and Ogden, returning Saturday evening. The president of the Ladies Self Culture club and Mrs. R. M. McFarland have returned after spending a week In Logan where the attended the 4tate federation club meeting. Mrs. L. S. Cox has returned to her home in Snowvillo after an extended visit here with her children, Mrs. Fred Hansen and Mrs. Robert Evans. Mrs. Mary Howell has returned home from Yost where she spent the latter part of the summer visiting with her daughter, Mrs. Nathaniel Montgomery. oo |
