Show Chicago Quotations V J CHICAGO, Oct. 19. Week-end covering cov-ering by shorts led to decided upturns today in the corn market. Delay in the receipt of the German answer to President Pres-ident Wilson's note was given a bullish bull-ish construction and there was an evident tendency to even up trades to be prepared for any surprise happenings happen-ings over Sunday. Besides arrivals were light Initial prices, which ranged rang-ed from 1 to 3c off with November Novem-ber $1.21 to 1.22 and December $1.161 to 1.17, were followed by sharp gains all around. Oats had an upward slant with corn. After opening at to Vic adyanco, with November GGc, the market continued con-tinued to ascend. Provisions reflected weakness of the hog market Pork fell the limit Profit taking sales led to reactions in corn later. The close was unsettled 1 net higher with November $1.22 to 1.22 and Docember $1.18 to 1.18. Subsequently upturns in provisions were brought about by the strength of grain and by week-end adjustment of trades. CHICAGO QPOTATIONS.
