Show oo - WEARING OF VEILS While it is, of course, quite proper to wear a veil at any time of the year, it always seems as though in tho fall and in tho spring of tho year a veil is an absolute necessity. Usually the first hats to be shown by the inillners in the fall aro small ones, a nd a veil does look well on a small hat. In fact, 1 have never liked a veil on a large hat In tho first place, ono seldom sees a veil attached to a large hat so that it looks neat, and It Is little won-I won-I der that this is seldom found when wo jail know the struggle it is to attempt to get a veil around a large hat, especially es-pecially when tho brim is at all irregular irreg-ular in shape. To meet the small hat with a good looking veil neatly and attractively caught at tho back of the head is ono of the greatest assets any woman can add to her outfit. 1'v.e seen many an almost homely woman look stunning because she was wise enough to know the valuo of the small hat and the trim veil. The veils with the band across tho chin are still worn quite a good deal in New York, but really they have got a little too common to be smart specially spe-cially tho very long chiffon veils combined com-bined with a mesh, which were originally origin-ally intended for the sea shore or for motoring, but have been worn all sum-, iner by many for street wear. |
