Show E. W. PATRICK FILES ANSWER IN 10 LIBEL SUIT An answer was filed today by E. Wr Patrick, who is suing the Standard I for $50,000 damages for alleged libel, to answer filed by the newspaper to plaintiff's complaint. In his answer Patrick denies certain statements and admits others. He admits being confined con-fined in the city jail on the night of December 29, 1917. and admits plac ing a $3000 bail. He also admits being present at a private conference in the office of the chief of police when he was confronted by one of the girls with whom he is alleged to have been in a room on or about the night of December De-cember 29 in a local hotel. He admits also that his name was registered at the police station as Patterson. The other statements in the defendant's defen-dant's answer he claims to be untrue and not within his knowledge and he therefore denies them. |
