Show WEBER COLLEGE GIVES j STROiSGHE II JT ' re mm The dramatic club of the Weber college col-lege presented Its 1917-191S play last night in the Orphoum theater and scored a distinct success. "Strong-i "Strong-i heart." that popular college play which has thrilled audiences in all parts of the country fo'r several years, was the drama presented and the youthful actors ac-tors handled the lines and the difficult . acting very ably. T. Earl Pardoe, professor pro-fessor of dramatics at the "Weber col lege, directed the play and many comments com-ments were heard as to his success. The annual show given by the dra-1 dra-1 matic club of the college is one of the i most important evontsin the school's life. The house last night was packed to within a few rows of the rear and the audience was not unsparing of its applause at any time. The role of Strongheart, the Indian chief who comes east to college, is taken by Wllford Jloench. a uicmbor ol Inst year's cast. This was the only chamclor that Director Pardoe had Ic go out of the school for. His excellenl voice and bearing made him n very acceptable leading cbaractor Grace Stomj took the part of Dorothy Nelson sweetheart of Strongheart, and handled han-dled It most ably. After these especially es-pecially difficult parts the most important impor-tant are those of Dick Livingston and Frank Nelson, a Junior and senior; Billy Bil-ly Saunders, a senior by courtesy, Thome, a special; Ileade, a grind, and Molly Livingston, sister of Dick. Other roles of le6B length but or Importance are those of ifoss, a freshman; Buckley, Buck-ley, head coach, and Black Eagle, a messenger from Strongheart's tribe. Perhaps the outotandlng feature of the show was the general excellence of voice of the actors. Hardly a word was lost to the audience for this rea-I rea-I son, a factor UB.un.Uy hard to accomplish accom-plish in amateur productions. Besides the principals the following members of the cast added much to the production: Ray Lindsay, Melbourne Douglas, Andrew Kasius, Gordon Croft, EfTlc Kasius, Charles LInford, Mamo Crittenden. Crit-tenden. Vera Malan, Ida Scowcrofl, Josephine Volker. Lettle Ririe, John Croft, Dale Phllllpps, David L. McKay Mc-Kay and Stanley Rhees. Jack Wright, in the minor role or the "butler, was well cast. In the last act Syanley Rhees, as Black Eagle played a strong part Members of the football team who appeared In the second act were Phil Jeppson, Ellis Barker, Tsar Winters, Win-ters, Arthur Linford, Harry West, Ezra Steolo, Evan Fnrr, Virgil Peterson, Lowell Lo-well Ridges.
