Show I: A. I. TIPPETTS TD HEAD BOYS H GIRLS CLUBS The position of leader of boys' and girls' clubs in Weber county was filled yesterday with tho appointment of V. I. Tippets, former Millard county scjiool : principal, by the county board of'edu-; of'edu-; ' cation. The position is made possible ; through the apportionment of funds j I by the government for such a purpose, f the county school board to pay part of the expenses and the government fund the other part. The appointment of a leader has been under consideration several weeks by the board of education. educa-tion. Prof. J. C. Hogenson of tho Agricultural Agri-cultural collego, head of boys' and girls' club work in Utah, and W. P. Thomas, county farm ageilt and extension ex-tension division representative of the government. Mr. Tippets will take up the work on January 1, 191S. His appointment was recommended by Prof. Hogeuson. Ho will work under direction of the board of education and the extension division of the agricultural college and will devote all of his time to the supervision super-vision of the club work of boys and girls throughout the county. He will work in co-operation with W. P. Thomas, county agent, and Miss Edna Lad wig, county homo economics demonstrator. dem-onstrator. He will make his headquarters head-quarters in the officos of the county board of education in the First National Na-tional bank building. nn |
