Show CHIEF OF" POLICE WILL QUASHING OF INDICTMENT Chief of Police Thomas E. Browning, Brown-ing, who was indicted recently for his alleged refusal to admit two alleged negro gamblers to jail, will probably be exonerated by the quashing of the indictment when his demurrer is argued ar-gued before District Judge Alfred W. Ageo tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, judging from a statement made in court today by District Attorney Stuart P. Dobbs. The Browning demurer was ou the calendar for hearing today, but the court was engaged- In tho trial of Joseph Jo-seph Murdoch. Judge Agee asked the district attorney to suggest a time convenient con-venient for the hearing of the demurrer, demur-rer, stating it could not be reached today. to-day. The district attorney replied: "Unless "Un-less I find a law, which so far I have been unable to find, tho demurrer will havo to be confessed." Judge Agee made no comment, but set the hearing hear-ing for tomorrow afternoon. Chief Browning's demurrer to the indictment is based upon statutory grounds.
