For the former, Manager H. E. US Skinner has arranged a finish match between Jack Harbertson and Charlie HK Hackenschmldt. for a purse of ?750, H;. winner lake all, and for the latter, Pro-jj Pro-jj moter Eddie Dallas has matched Frank IV Barrieau and Jack Torres for a ten-IB ten-IB round bout. Hp While the wrestling match is titular- II ly the main event, the boxing contest II is considered equally important and, it II Is thought, the double card will give mm the Alhambra patrons tonight-iu-full m measure of entertainment H For nearly ten years Hackenschmldt H has been endeavoring to get a match H with Harbertson, declaring in no un- R certain terms his confidence in being B able to defeat the local man. Jack's B friends are therefore hoping that the K new local light-heavyweight will pin B the Russian to the mat in short order, B as they fully believe he is capable of H doing. It is understood there will be no betting on the match. Harlan Pay-ton Pay-ton will referee. f Torres and Barrieau are in fine condition con-dition for their bout and its outcome is doubtful. The New Mexico boxer has the advantage of a former victory over the Canadian champion and in his workouts at the local armory this week has taken well with the fans. Barrieau has been one of the best drawing cards of the season locally, the fans having been ready at any timo to help, by their patronage, to finance a contest In which he was a principal. It is expected that this will bo the spirit of their greeting tonight, Frank is a hardy and clever boxer and if he is bested by Torres it will be by a coming welterweight champion. Torres Tor-res recently stayed nine rounds with Les Darcy, the heavyweight who recently re-cently came over from Australia, and he otherwise has a fine record. The show will begin promptly at 9 o'clock and Is to be staged and managed man-aged by Eddie Dallas. Ladies will be admitted free 'to a specially reserved section of the auditorium. |
