Show iMJSSlEETIIG TO BE HELD 01 TUESDAY. APRIL-17 Dr. John F. Snedaker, president of the Good Government league, today issued is-sued a call for a mass meeting of taxpayers tax-payers in tho courtroom of District Judge Alfred W. Agee next Tuesday night at 8 o'clock, to havo a full and free discussion of the $200,000 issue of school bonds, to be voted on at a special spe-cial election on April 26. Dr. Snedaker also issued a call today to-day for the entire executivo board of the league to attend n special meeting meet-ing tomorrow night at 8 O'clock in James J. Brummitt's offices, under tho Utah National bank. Plans of great j public Importance, he said, will be discussed dis-cussed with a -view to immediate co-' co-' operation for the public good. Dr. Snedaker said he hoped every citizen who recognizes the imperative necessity of making the school buildings build-ings safe for the children will attend I the mass meeting next Tuesday night, i The meeting is not called to elicit Indorsement In-dorsement of the school bonds, because be-cause a great majority of the taxpayers seem to be in favor of the issue, but for the special purpose of assuring the approval of the bonds at the election by co-operative volunteer work from now until April 26. The league chieftain also said he believed be-lieved public opinion would condemn any attempt to submit tho other bond issues, proposed by the city commission, commis-sion, at the school bond election. It might jeopardize tho approval of the school bonds, he said, to mix them up in tho public mind with other issues, which, however important and merito- rious, are not so well understood and which will require a longer time to familiarize fa-miliarize the public with their merits. "Let us hope," "aid Dr. Snedaker, "that the school board, at its meeting tonight, will insist on submitting the school bonds separately and exclusively exclusive-ly at the special election on April 26." rr - |
